Selbey Anderson has acquired three agencies within three months of opening its doors for business. The three agencies are drawn from across the creative spectrum and collectively employ thirty-two staff with annualised revenues of £4.2million. The three agencies, which were acquired during December, January and February, are; Greentarget, Orckid and Hartley-Stone.
A long-established PR agency which is led by joint managing directors Jeff Watt and Dafina Grapci-Penney, Greentarget offers corporate communications support to clients drawn from across the financial services industry.
Based in Staines, Orckid is a digital product development company serving blue-chip international businesses as well as venture-backed private businesses. It was established in 1988 by former senior advertising executive Mark Rodick. The agency, which employs fourteen staff is now led by Dan Ellis.
This B2B agency specialises in delivering integrated marketing campaigns to clients which operate in multiple IT channels including vendors, distributors, MSPs and resellers. The agency was established in 2002. David Hartley and David Nossiter will remain with the business for up to two years.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Selbey Anderson’s Group CEO, Dom Hawes said: “Our investors were keen for us to deploy capital as quickly as possible and we’ve done just that. This was the fastest start we could possibly have made and the three post-acquisition integrations have gone incredibly smoothly. We’re heartened by how quickly each agency has started contributing to our community.
“All three of these agencies exemplify the type of agency that we are looking to acquire, namely; highly creative, long-established, specialised and operating in niche markets. Our agencies are well managed by autonomous management teams and employ super-talented people.
“I’m having a significant number of conversations with other agency owners who have shown an interest in our business model and I would expect to announce further acquisitions in the very near future.”
Selbey Anderson was set up by Dom Hawes, Simon Quarendon and Edward Goodchild in early 2018 and closed a funding round with two family offices in late 2018.
