Financial services communications consultancy, Greentarget Limited, has been acquired by Selbey Anderson, an investor in fast-growing, boutique agencies. Joint Managing Directors, Jeff Watt and Dafina Grapci-Penney, will continue to lead the 20 person team, based in the City of London.

Established in 2006 and advising some of the world’s largest and most successful financial institutions, Greentarget protects and enhances the reputations of firms operating across the financial ecosystem including buy- and sell-side, market infrastructure, financial technology and professional services.

Commenting on the deal, Jeff Watt said: “We were impressed by Selbey Anderson’s vision of the future which sees them building a network of like-minded agencies, with each one given the necessary support and resources to provide clients with the specialist communications advice they need, built on deep industry knowledge, insights and data.”

Dafina Grapci-Penney added: “We are enthusiastic about the journey ahead for the firm as we look to grow both in our core markets as well as beyond, working with international partners to serve the global financial industry through a period of huge transformation and opportunity. It is an exciting time to operate at the intersection of finance and technology and help our clients thrive and communicate with purpose.”

Selbey Anderson was established in 2018 by three partners, Dominic Hawes, Edward Goodchild and PR industry veteran, Simon Quarendon. It raised investment from two private family offices late last year and, in addition to Greentarget, has acquired two other creative agencies in the last three months.

Group Chief Executive Officer Dominic Hawes described the acquisition as a significant step saying: “Greentarget’s goal is to cement its role as a leading communications consultancy to the global financial industry. I am confident that with the expertise and connections that the agency already has, coupled with the additional resources that we can provide, they will achieve this.”
