Selbey Anderson buys LAW Creative; group headcount increases to 90 and annualised billings to just under £10m

January 19, 2021: Selbey Anderson, the fast growing creative agency group, today announced that it has acquired LAW Creative, a multi-award winning full service agency. This represents its fourth acquisition made within the last twelve months and brings total Group billings to just shy of £10million.

Since Selbey Anderson opened its doors in December 2018 it has acquired seven agencies and set up a further two, as well as establishing an offshore shared service centre in North Macedonia through subsidiary, Drum Horse.

The acquisition of LAW Creative offers deep expertise in brand strategy, creative design, content marketing and digital marketing and development. LAW Creative has won numerous awards for campaigns involving advertising, content, film, strategy and digital.

Based in Hertfordshire, the agency was set up in 2000 by Keith Sammels and Nicola Ellis. As part of the acquisition, Keith will step down and Brett Sammels, who has driven the agency’s strategy and digital development for the last fourteen years becomes Managing Director. Nicola Ellis, another founding director, will continue in her Executive Client Services role for the foreseeable future.

Commenting on its latest acquisition, Group CEO Dominic Hawes said: “Welcoming LAW into Selbey Anderson is a game changer for the group because it brings us new capabilities, new colleagues and new clients.

“To be precise, the deal brings 38 new colleagues into the team and their creative output is breath taking. The agency, rightly, has a very good reputation. We’re very proud to be working with them and we’re excited to see how Brett’s leadership can positively influence our group.

“2021 is going to be a big year for us. Covid is placing a drag on the business, but we’re still pushing hard for growth. Businesses that can thrive in this environment need to step on the gas to offer hope to those being made redundant elsewhere.”

Commenting on the sale of the agency to Selbey Anderson, Brett Sammels said: “Through superb customer service, creativity and results, LAW Creative has become a leading European agency for integrated communications. We specialise in servicing blue-chip businesses and brands primarily in the hotel, leisure, automotive and retail sectors.

“Selbey Anderson will help to facilitate our ambitions to remain at the forefront of strategic, digital and production services whilst helping us to exceed our client’s expectations and assisting us with our plans for growth”.
