Sharper Marketing Becomes Latest Agency to Join Selbey Anderson
‘B2B marketing that’s more creative, more valued and more commercially successful’.
That’s the mission Russ Powell, MD of Sharper B2B Marketing, our newest agency, has set himself.
We think he’ll achieve it. It’s why we appointed Russ without even meeting him! Interviewing a candidate MD during a nation-wide lockdown was an interesting experience, but we’ve found in Russ someone who ‘gets’ something that’s been close to Dom Hawes’ heart since we set up Selbey Anderson.
That passion was to help clients build awesome B2B brands, to deliver top-notch demand and lead generation campaigns, and to help them to win their big deals.
It’s a big ask but Russ’s former experience included holding down senior marketing positions (including Head of Marketing) in both agencies and in-house. And those in-house positions have included working at several global IT brands. In our minds, that combined experience makes Russ the ideal person to launch and lead our latest agency.
Russ – and his soon-to-be-established – team will offer clients support in an area that’s of growing concern to companies grappling with a worsening business climate brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic; how to deliver high quality leads to fill their sales pipeline.
Until the pandemic struck, the single most popular tactic used by most B2B marketers to fill their sales funnels was staging, hosting or attending B2B events and the disappearance of virtually all f2f exhibitions, trade shows and other events means that companies now need to adopt a more creative approach to this area.
Enter Sharper B2B Marketing.
Russ expects the agency’s demand-gen and lead-gen services to be the most popular, but anticipates that many will find the ‘Big Deal Support’ service will be of significant interest too. This service will appeal to those B2B companies looking to win largescale (‘Big Ticket’) contracts where distinctive, desirable bid responses and supporting materials that can wow decision makers can make all the difference between success or failure.
