For those who visit our website, LinkedIn page or receive emails from us regularly, you will notice we are proudly displaying fresh “bling.”
I am pleased, if not surprised, to announce that Selbey has been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Advertising, Media and Marketing in 2024. This is the first year we have entered the process to enter and we are delighted to be on the list of 60 businesses, businesses that include Havas Lynx, Pion and The Maverick Group (amongst many others), which makes it even more gratifying to feature.
Employee engagement and happiness are crucial to us as a Group; they ensure we attract and keep the best talent; they reflect the realities of working and living in today’s world and of course they ensure personal growth and growth for our clients. Featuring on this list is proof we are moving in the right direction, proof we are glad to share!
Earlier this year we invited Selbey Anderson’s’ 160 plus employees to anonymously respond to Great Place To Work® research-backed Trust Index© employee survey. The survey asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety, and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how we can deliver consistency of employee experience across all businesses. Over 74% responded, candidly answering what we do well and how we can improve.
As we are a collection of agencies, our employee experience is a little more complex than others. Each agency (and thanks to AML, Burn, Drum Horse, Greentarget, IGNIFI, LAW Creative, Radish, Selbey Labs and Sharper B2B Marketing) has its own values, culture and working practices, which are unified and magnified at a Group level under our mantra of “helping clients we believe in win the future.” Often we work apart, but when we come together – as we regularly do for Group-wide event or on shared clients – we know that our whole is greater than the sum of our parts. I am especially delighted that the team recognised this dual approach.
The graphic below shows where we, as a Group, particularly thrive.
Compelling numbers. And, whilst there is always room to grow (and the feedback was incredibly helpful in identifying this), the more anecdotal (but still anonymous) feedback was also a great read:
“Generally a great sense of belonging, togetherness and common purpose.”
“The work environment is great. It's a place where i feel appreciated and enjoy working everyday.”
“Freedom across the company for all to try new things, suggest ideas to management. Everyday access to management, cross-team collaboration, lovely work environment (physically and emotionally)”
I look forward to seeing the impact this recognition will make on Selbey Anderson both internally and externally. Being known as a Great Place to Work can only be a positive effect on our collective business as we look bring even more value to our 200-plus clients for the rest of this year and beyond.
